Dr. maygen Lafata DO

Adult Psychiatry Resident

I’m Dr. Maygen LaFata, a third year Psychiatry Resident. I was born in Italy but consider myself a Floridian as I grew up in Orlando, Florida. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and the University of Central Florida earning two bachelor degrees, one in business and one in the health sciences. In May of 2020 I graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania with my doctorate in osteopathic medicine. I then made my way home to Florida joining the Psychiatry program at Woodmont Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale.

My passion for patient care combined with a high degree of professionalism built on business studies has shaped my medical approach, and over my last 2+ years at Woodmont I have strived to perfect the practice of therapeutic psychiatry utilizing a wide range of methodologies. My primary interest outside of medicine involves the  equestrian world and the furry friends it includes.
