Dr. Sheilin Hamid, DO
Adult Psychiatric Resident
Hello! My name is Dr. Sheilin Hamid. I’m a psychiatrist with a passion for integrative mental healthcare. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior from Florida Atlantic University. I earned my medical degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022, followed by residency training in psychiatry at University Hospital and Medical Center in Tamarac, Florida.
My practice is based on the philosophy of patient-centered medical care, integrating evidence-based psychopharmacology with personalized lifestyle interventions. I believe that mental well-being is achieved through a collaborative partnership between patient and provider. My clinical expertise includes treating depression, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), bipolar spectrum disorders.
I’m committed to addressing the inequities in healthcare and the stigma associated with seeking mental health treatment through education and advocacy. My goal is to provide every patient with the highest quality care in a supportive and respectful environment. When I’m not at work, I pursue my passion for great food by exploring new restaurants and trying local delicacies. I also enjoy spending time at the beach with my German Shepherd or unwinding on my couch to enjoy a good movie or TV show.
I'm here to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered through every step of your mental health journey!
